Deflation may seem like a great way to bring prices back in line to where they used to be. But deflation is not something you would wish for. The definition of deflation is a process where prices of consumer goods and services fall and money increases in value. This is good, but longer periods of deflation can lead to higher unemployment, a decrease in demand, and a reduction in economic activity. This is obviously not good.
